WH ERE THAT DRIVER IS NOW FACING CHARS.GE JEARS.GE NNIFER: THAT DRIVER IS GOING TO GO BEFORE THE JUDGE THIS AFTERNOON. HIS NAME IS MATTHEWCC MUE, HE IS FACING SEVERAL CHARGES. BUT THIS IS THE SENDCO TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN TWO MONTHS. >> I HEARD A LOUD “BANG” INTO THE HOUSE. JENNIFER: IT WAS THE SOUND AOF PICKUP TRUCK SLAMMING INTO JOSE RODRIGUEZ’S SALEM HOME. >> I THINK THE FOUNDATION TOFHE HOUSE WAS THE ONLY THING THAT STOPPED HIM, BECAUSE HE COULD HAVE GONE RIGHT INSIDE THE HOUSE. JENNIFER: POLICE CHARGED THE DRIVER, A 25-YEAR-OLD MAN FROM SALEM, WITH DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND SPEEDING. >> HE WAS TRYING TO CLIMB OUT OF THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. HE WAS LIKE, “AM I OK?” “AM I BLEENG?”DI “I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.” “I’M OK, I’M .”OK HE WANTED TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. JENNIFER: THE CRASH TOOK O THEUT FRONT PORCH OF THE HOME ALONG JEFFERSON AVENUE, DAMAGED THE FOUNDATION AND THE GAS LINE TO THE HOME, WHICH WAS THEN SHUT OFF. NO ONE INSIDE WAS HURT. IT’S THE SECOND TIME A BUILDING HAS BEEN HIT IN JUST A SHORT STRETCH OF THIS ROAD RECY.ENTL ON APRIL 2, A TRUCK STRUCK THE FRONT OF THE CORNER STORE JUST TWO DOORS DOWN FROM THE HOME THAT WAS HIT OVERNIGHT. >> JUST RECENTLY, AS YOU CAN SEE, OUR STORE NEXT DOOR HAD A TRUCK IN THE BUILDING AS WELL, SO, IT’S REALLY CRAZY. >> IT IS RIDICULOUS. A drunken driver crashed into a home in Salem early Monday morning, police said.The crash happened just before 1 am on Jefferson Avenue.”I think the foundation of the house was the only thing that stopped him because he could have gone right inside the house,” homeowner Jose Rodriguez said. Police said Matthew McCue, 25, of Salem, will be charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, speeding and a marked lanes violation. “He was trying to climb out of the back of the truck. He was like, ‘Am I OK? Am I bleeding? I’m OK, I’m OK.’ He wanted to know what was going on,” a said witness. The crash took out the front porch of the home and damaged the foundation and the gas line to the home, which was then shut off. No one inside was hurt. It’s the second time a building has been hit in a short stretch of the road. On April 2, a truck struck the front of the corner store two doors down from the home that was hit overnight.
